Recipes furnished and attributed by Association members. Filled with period local advertisements - Dry Goods Stores, Meat & Sausage, and the newest electrical appliances such as refrigerators, stoves, and appliances. Featuring a black and white photo of the Day Nursery Department, a direct recipient of the proceeds of this Community Cookbook. "From April 1, 1916 to April 1, 1917, the Nursery was opened three hundred and eight days not including Sundays and holidays. During that time there were ninety-nine different children cared for. Attendance for the year being two thousand seven hundred and forty-one children." The Nursery took in children while parents worked or were unable to care for their children, charging five cents and up or whatever parents were able to pay. Two recipes laid in. Interior clean and crisp. Boards soiled and lightly rubbed.
