Autograph Letter Signed to fellow artist Ludwig Meidner, in French, on a post card, postmarked Nov. 19, 1907. Meidner, a German artist (1884-1966) associated with Expressionism, and Modigliani arrived in Paris in 1906 and became friends. Their painting styles were different but both artists were the same age and shared their Jewish heritage. Meidner returned to Germany in the summer of 1907. Later that year Modigliani wrote this postcard to Meidner. Translation: "My dear Meidner, I saw Breher last night at Mrs. Arnheim's. I am surprised more than I can tell you. I haven't received anything from you. Write to me as soon as possible...." He signs, "Modigliani.
