Memoirs of General William T. Sherman (2 Volume Set)

New York: D.A. Appleton, 1886. Octavo. Second edition, Revised and Corrected. In two volumes. Vol. I; 355 pp.(4)pp. ads. Vol. II; 570 pp., (6) pp. ads. Illustrated. The original memoirs were published in 1875 but Sherman was not satisifed since many of the U.S. Governments records of the Civil War had still not been released in 1875. In this edition, he has edited some errors, corrected items from the records, and included the maps of General O.M. Poe. This edition notes that Sherman corrects and ammends his account with new discoveries and accurate maps. Hhe also added an additional 2 chapters. A very nice st bound in green cloth lettered in gilt, spine lettering gilt, dark blue coated endpapers, spine has a few rub marks and a couple of nicks, light wear to corners. No names or bookplates.
