Salt Lake City, Utah: The Deseret News Press, 1954. First Edition. Hardcover. Very good. The story of the foundation and pioneer development of Wasatch County, often called Utah's Switzerland for the rugged beauty of Mount Timpanogos, its climate, and a large population of Swiss settlers. The first settlers were Mormon pioneers, in 1859, settling near present Heber City, Midway, and Charleston. On January 17, 1862, the Utah Territory legislature created the county, annexing areas from Great Salt Lake, Green River, Sanpete, Summit, and Utah counties. Octavo: [viii], 162 pp. with numerous illustrations and photographs, as well as endpaper maps. Original green cloth binding, with gilt-stamped titles and decorations. The boards are a bit edgeworn, largely at the corners and tips; otherwise very good. (Inventory #: 78274)
