Northridge, California: Lord John Press, 1978. First edition. Very Good. One of twenty-six deluxe lettered copies signed on the colophon by Ray Bradbury. In the deluxe full brown leather binding titled in gilt (three hundred numbered copies in quarter cloth over boards were also produced). Some spotting to boards and a bit of toning to edges of pastedowns. Overall a fresh, Very Good copy.
Dedicated to Bradbury's daughter, Alexandra, Twin Hieroglyphs that Swim the River Dust collects six of the author's poems.
The book was designed and attractively printed by Grant Dahlstrom. Along with printing for the Lord John Press, Dahlstrom also founded the Castle Press, a fixture of the fine press movement that bookseller and publisher Jake Zeitlin called "a small Renaissance, Southern California-style." Twin Hieroglyphs was the first of eight books by Bradbury published by the Lord John Press. Others include The Last Circus (1980); This Attic Where the Meadow Greens (1979); Death Has Lost Its Charm for Me (1987); and Witness and Celebrate (2000). Very Good. (Inventory #: 6905)
