Book with a small knock to the lower text block, with some corresponding wrinkling to the lower corner of several pages. In a very attractive dust jacket with The Guardian blurb on the rear panel (as required for the first issue jacket). Signed (without dedication) by the author on the blank verso of the half-title (a location that she only used in her first US tour, later opting for the title page or dedication page). Overall, a handsome copy of a book that reshaped popular culture. This first print run was limited to 30,000 copies. Later volumes in the series had initial print runs that soared into the millions.
