Mahatma Gandhi: a memorial service

The memorial service "held in tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at the Community Church of New York on February 1st, 1948, two days after his assassination. The preciding ministers were John Haynes Holmes and Donald Harrington. The service is published on request of many of the more than seventeen hundred persons who came to pay hommage to the greatest man of our time. The drawing on the cover [of Gandhi] was given by Russell O. Berg, artist, and friend of the Church" (p. 1). (Inventory #: 68724)
