Chicago: J. Maul, [ca 1887]. Eight original albumen photographic portraits; printed area approximately 5-3/4" x 4", mounted to commercial cabinet cards, photographer's name and address reverse-printed in red at base, with thin red rule surrounding image, 6-1/2" x 4-1/4". Each with handwritten name in ink on verso, identifying the subject; the card for Albert Spies also includes a pencil annotation: "These are pictures of anarchists of Haymarket Riot. The top one Spies lived in the same house as we before I was born on Clyburn Ave" (the note-writer is unknown). The set in uniformly fine condition, with mounts clean and unworn, the images themselves, despite (truncated)
