Stated First Edition/First Printing with red cloth boards, in the first state jacket with the $3.00 price to the front flap and Bobbs-Merrill's titles to the back panel; A Very Good book in a Very Good or better dust jacket. An exceptionally well preserved copy of this influential and controversial novel, basis for stage, screen, and even some political campaigns; rare in the first printing and in collectible condition. This copy is in very good condition with a square, tight binding, bright gold lettering over slightly rubbed and faintly soiled red boards, and clean pages throughout; the book does show some moderate rubbing to the spine ends and lower edges with a couple of tiny frayed spots to the spine head, light soiling to the exterior text block, mild off-setting to the pastedowns, a few age spots scattered through the text including one small soiled spot to p. 33-34., and a previous bookstore sticker to the rear pastedown. Housed in a very good or better original clean and bright dust jacket that shows minor rubbing and creasing to the jacket edges and folds, and a mild color fading to the spine, else near fine or better. Housed in a beautiful leather and cloth custom clamshell box. Overall, a highly presentable and collectible copy, in a stunning jacket that shows no repair or restoration and is completely intact with no material loss; very difficult to find a first printing copy with this nice a jacket in today's marketplace; an extremely valuable addition to any 20th Century Literature library, a bucket list item for the Ayn Rand collector. Not remaindered, not price-clipped, not ex-library; in a protective Mylar cover and will ship securely wrapped in a sturdy box.
