An outstanding copy of a classic work of 20th century fiction; scarce in this condition with the first state jacket. This copy is in near fine condition with a square, tight binding and clean pages throughout; the book does show slight rubbing to the spine lettering, some age-spotting to the front and rear free papers, and some very light edgewear to the ends and edges, else fine. Housed in a clean and bright very good dust jacket that shows some light rubbing to the top edges, corners, and back panel, some moderate fading to the spine, and some inconspicuous expert repair to the verso of the jacket.
