Buckram
1973 · Paris
Paris: Maeght Editeur, 1973. Buckram. Very Good +. The sweeping catalogue raisonne of Georges Braque's paintings, complete in 6 lavish volumes. All 6 volumes are solid and VG+ to Near Fine in their decorative inlaid buckram, resembling very artistic spiral-bound notebooks. Each volume shows the stamp (or several stamps) along its title page of New York's formidable Marlborough Gallery, who clearly owned this set at one point. Except for Vol. 4, whose metallic binding came loose, all other volumes are tight and firm and very solid. Occasional light wear at several of the spine crowns and very mild soiling to several of the panels. Uniform quartos, the breakdown is as follows: Vol. I: Peintures 1916-1923; Vol. II: Peintures 1924-1927; Vol. III: Peintures 1928-1935; Vol. IV: Peintures 1936-1941; Vol. V: Peintures 1942-1947; and Vol. VI: Peintures 1948-1957.
