Écritures is an illustrated walk through the career of surrealist Max Ernst, with 120 illustrations of his work and text with poetry, biographical notes, snippets, thoughts, and dialogues. This deluxe edition – number 97 of only 100 copies – is complete with the striking colored frontispiece etching signed and numbered by Ernst, and an original color lithograph as the cover (extending around the book). In original publisher’s half-leather box by Leroux with snake-skin patterned spine.
