by COKES, Tony
Unpaginated. Square 4to, printed softcover, title on spine. Vienna: saxpublishers, 2022.
Artist’s book published for Tony Cokes’ 2021-22 exhibition at Felix Gaudlitz in Vienna; two copies recorded by WorldCat (as of October 2024). From the gallery’s website: “Cokes’ solo exhibition SM BNGRZ centers around and observes club culture as hubs for celebration of life through love, desire, queerness, music, art, aesthetics and bodies moving. The show questions the potential loss of such hubs through the impossibility of no longer gathering collectively. As a starting point, Cokes takes Rainald Goetz’s RAVE (1998) to examine clubs of the past, the present and the future and hence, its political quality in the creation of subculture, activist movements and political resistance.”
In fine condition. Regular edition of 400 copies, each example has a unique combination of text and page colors. (Inventory #: 10614)
