Contemporary quarter red scored calf over marbled boards with red scored calf corners, smooth spine decoratively ruled in gilt, pale green endpapers. With the engraved bookplate of Robert M. Rosenbaum on front paste-down. The plates were lithographed by Mueller after I. H. Sjöholm, Adolf Ulrik Schützercrantz and Alexander Clemens Wetterling.

Adolf Ulrik Schützercrantz (1802-1854) was a Swedish artist and military officer. He served in the Second Life Guards regiment between 1819 and 1851, and was awarded the Order of the Sword in 1839. At the same time, he was active as an artist. He worked in several techniques, producing topographical views, scenes from everyday life, illustrations of costumes and military uniforms, and travel sketches. He was co-founder of the predecessor of the present-day Swedish Association for Art and for a time its secretary. He also participated in the organization of what would later become the museum Livrustkammaren. He worked in several techniques, but became most recognized for reproductions of his works in lithography. Typically, the subject matters of Schützercrantz' works are depictions of everyday life, sometimes comical (to some extent in the style of Thomas Rowlandson); city scenes or landscapes in the tradition of Pehr Hilleström and Elias Martin; and illustrations of costumes and military uniforms for printed publications. he illustrated two other books Kongl: Svenska riddare ordnarnes Drägter. (The Military Knights of Sweden). Stockholm: Gjöthström & Magnusson, 1833. (Colas 2697) and Svenska krigsmaktens fordna och närvarande munderingar. (The Swedish Armed Forces). Stockhom: J.F. Meyer, 1849-53 (Colas 2698 & Hiler, p. 612).
Alexander Clemens Wetterling (1796-1858) and Johan Henric Sjöholm (1804-1842) were both Swedish artists.
