A dramatization of the life of legendary Polish ballet dancer and choreographer Vaslav Nijinsky, focusing on the dancer's repression of his own homosexuality due to his drive for success, and subsequent descent into mental illness near the end of his life. Loosely based on Nijinsky's personal diaries, which were heavily bowderlized and published by his widow, Romola de Pulszky, in 1936, as well as Pulszky's 1934 biography of the dancer.
