The book is widely considered to be the first American cookbook, authored by an American and printed and published in the US. Contemporary one-quarter brown calf, with marbled paper over boards; Hinges sound, but calf split on front panel, light foxing throughout; early owner's ink inscription to preliminary leaf. Rare.
