by Māʼū Tsih Dūn (Mao Zedong)
n.p.: Sāzmān-i Inqilābī, 1978. 316p., paperback, somewhat shelfworn with corner creases. Translation published by Iranian activists in exile. The original set of Mao's works consisted of four volumes, with materials going up to the revolution of 1949 but not after. Because of the unstable political situation and changes in Party line, it was impossible for many years to decide which post-1949 texts should be upheld in a new volume. It was only after Mao's death, when Hua Guofeng (Kuo-feng) was trying to cement his legitimacy as heir, that the fifth volume finally appeared, containing texts from 1949 to 1957, at the dawn of the Great Leap Forward.
