Hardcover. 264p., signed by Stein at the half-title page, poetry, biographical sketches, plays, prose, very good second printing stated hardcover bound in linen cloth boards illustrated with Van Vechten's portrait of Stein with a rough woven maroon & orange cloth spine and paper title label, maroon topstain, the gray dust jacket is missing but a clear mylar jacket has been added. Wilson A22b. This is in the first printing binding, a variant noted in Wilson. Most of the second printing copies were bound in plain brown cloth. The inner flaps of the original jacket are laid-in.
