Staplebound oblong format, 11” x 8 1/2”, includes an essay ‘James Agee on Buster Keaton’ and ‘Buster Keaton’ by noted Keaton historian and collector Raymond Rohauer. The body of the text offers profiles of Keaton’s films in chronological order, beginning with The High Sign (1920) and ending with Steamboat Bill Jr. (1927) as well as a complete Keaton filmography, including his early appearances during the ‘Arbuckle Period’ (1917 - 1919). Illustrated. Very good slightly handled copy with a 1/2” tear to the bottom edge of the front cover and a 1/2” tear at the top of the fold. Raymond Rohauer (1924 - 1987), the former film curator - Gallery of Modern Art in New York. Beginning his collection at a young age, Mr. Rohauer went on to found the Hollywood Film Society. He also established meaningful partnerships with Buster Keaton, Mrs. Harry Langdon, Douglas Fairbanks Jr., and others committed to the distribution and restorations of features and shorts that went unseen for many years.
