Johnnycake offers a personally curated collection of about 10,000 volumes, a small generalized inventory with emphasis on architecture and design, books arts, illustrated books, landscape and gardening, 19th and 20thC American literature and the whimsical curio. We also have a tidy collection of American history, sport and natural history. We were one of the first hundred or so booksellers to put its collection on-line in the mid-1990s. Our storefront, which resulted from our internet success, is located in the small Connecticut town of Salisbury. Nestled in the foothills of the Berkshires, about 100 miles north of Manhattan, our shop is housed in a 19th-century farmer’s cottage. Surrounded by perennial gardens, Johnnycake Books is a place for relaxation, perusal, and acquisition of the fine volumes in our collection.
