The first of his "Jungle Novels," a six-book series published in the 1930's that focused on indigenous Mexicans forced to work clearing mahogany in the jungle – their rebellion lead to the outbreak of the Mexican Revolution. Bluish gray cloth lettered in gilt on spine; top edge gray; tipped-in frontispiece photograph of workers making camp. In first-issue dust jacket priced "7s6d" (later cheap edition was issued with price clipped and "3/6 net" added in red). Tiny crimp to one corner, thin streak of fading to spine, still near fine in dust jacket (truncated)
