by WILLIAMS, Spencer (1889 - 1965)
Village Music, 1954. unbound. 4 pages, 32.5 inches (when unfolded fully) x 8.5 inches, August 6, 1954, whereby Spencer Williams agrees to assign the copyright to his song "Sweetest Sweetie" to Sid Prosen at Hometown-Village Music in consideration of 50% of the collected royalties. Note: Williams died in 1965 and there is virtually nothing of his on the market. The Schomberg Library, arguably the largest repository of Black historical material in the United States, does not possess a single item in its permanent collection. He is much harder to obtain in autographic material than Bix Beiderbecke, Charlie Parker, and Theolonious Monk. Near fine condition. (truncated)
