Confederate-gray string-tied wraps with a flock-like texture, pp. [15]. Light wear, as with age and careful handling, but a fragile memorial volume to begin with. Some inevitable foxing. Illustrated with a photo frontis of the deceased, several memorial-themed woodcuts, and tipped-in photos of her Chilhowie birthplace and later home in Tazewell. Virginia Holmes Greever was a DAR Regent from 1924-1927 and a "loyal member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. . . . [S]he exemplified that self-same spartan spirit for the cause of the Confederacy which bestirred her honorable father, the late Captain James S. Greever, 48th Virginia Regiment, to take up arms in defense of it." OCLC locates one copy only, University of Virginia, as of April 2019.
