Included in the "pre-production package" is character information: Fox, half Choctaw Indian, half Irish, a loner in total control of his destiny; Yaqui, an Indian at the end of his rope looking for redemption; and Mose, half Black, half Indian, on the run for a crime he didn't commit. Also included: letters from various productions companies regarding possible crew members, like director Ted Post, cinematographer Vilmos Zsigmond, Will Sampson as "Yaqui," (truncated)
