Early printing, depiction of hats becoming increasingly larger on front endpapers (and increasingly smaller on rear endpapers). This copy is SIGNED by the author on the verso of the front free end paper. Book very good, previous owner's name penciled on top of inside cover. 1st page has a 1 1/2 " tear at bottom, some small red discoloration from binding behind paper on front and rear inside covers near top and bottom towards hinge.
