Illustrated. Very Good condition overall. Small chip to upper corner of front cover and another on back cover that effects the tissue-guard. Cover worn at bottom staple. In much better shape than usually found as wraps are quite brittle. Before any of his well-known hard-boiled suspense novels, Thompson wrote and edited this guidebook for the Federal Writers' Project of Oklahoma. He was a Communist Party member at the time and his writing here, stylistically, is far removed from his comparatively-apolitical, suspenseful pulp novels of the pulp era. (Inventory #: 151007006)
