Throop was officially nominated as a candidate for Governor, and Edward P. Livingston for Lieutenant Governor. Hogeboom praises President Jackson for carrying out his duties in a "frank and fearless" manner and discusses ongoing opposition against the administration by prominent members of the late cabinet. He discusses issue of roads and (truncated) canals, and the President's recent veto of a bill for the same; the national and state debts; and recommends support of Throop and Livingston.
