"Totentanz in Polen" is the grim and terrifying illustrated war diary of a young German artist enlisted in the SS troops during the Polish campaign. Petersen's graphic illustrations depict not only "brave" Nazi soldiers fighting the enemy, but also the misery brought upon the Poles. The illustrations are in b/w, duotone and in color. Minor age-wear on binding with abrasion on cloth of upper and lower spine and moderate staining on covers. Text in German, gothic script. Light sunning of binding and age-toning of block, not affecting images. Some foxing in foredge. Binding in overall good, interior good+ to very good condition. (Inventory #: 39185)
