Original wrappers (browned, brittle) bound in. Later endpapers lacking. Ex-library copy (properly withdrawn). Small pasted overlay at base of front wrapper "Ouvrage couronne par l'Academie des Sciences". Lightly browned throughout, but not brittle. A good working copy. This volume contains the following sections: "Les Cassini; Les Ingenieurs Geographes; La Carte au 80.000. (truncated) Travaux des commissions.; La Carte au 80.000. Direction" Cloth. This volume also has a very nice selection of plates showing historic instruments that were used in surveying and cartography, and would be useful to the collector or historian of those objects.
