Brown & decorated cloth, 126 pp. profusely illus., mostly in BW with some color plates. A history of the stereoscope and its double view cards, popular from the 1850s-1920s. Originally this was a two-volume set: with one text volume, and another containing a stereoscope and 48 double-view cards. Of that, only 8 cards remain, and the stereoscope is missing. But all of the cards are featured individually (truncated) in the text volume anyway. All you would be missing is the personal experience. A pre-cursor to the Baby Boomers' Viewmaster.
