A good reading copy, with an interesting provenance: From the library of Douglas Fairbanks, Jr., with his bookplate on the front paste-down, and inscribed to him by the author. Fairbanks (1909-2000) was an iconic American actor from Hollywood’s Golden Era (his credits include “Gunga Din”), and a highly decorated naval officer of World War II.
