Boyer, (1757-1833), one of the most famous surgeons of his time, was Napoleon's physician and professor of surgery. His lectures were collected by the equally prominent surgeon Anthelme Richerand 1779- 1851). The book was immediately translated into German, English and Italian. Hirsch. I.665 and IV.796.
