First edition, oblong 4to, pp. [4], 58, [2]; consisting of text and music printed from engravings throughout; later taupe paper-covered boards with original(?) calf gilt spine laid down; some wear to extremities, especially spine ends and fore corners, and the boards somewhat soiled and scuffed, but still very good. The Duenna was the third comedy by Sheridan performed at Covent Garden in 1775, preceded by The Rivals and St. Patrick's Day. With music by his father-in-law and brother-in-law, the Thomases Linley, the "comic opera The Duenna was represented at Covent Garden on 21 Nov. 1775 and on seventy-four (truncated)
