Signed Photograph

1955. unbound. Vintage 10 x 8-inch black-and-white photo, inscribed and signed in full: "Ted - Thanks for Caring, Charles Brown." Captioned "Aladdin (Records) Star." No place, no date, circa 1955. Very good condition. Charles Brown was a jazz artist who turned R&B and scored immediate attention with his mellow vocal style. An original signer to the Aladdin Record label where he had a consistent string of hits, however it was at King Records where he achieved stardom. Brown wrote and recorded the classic "Merry Christmas Baby" in 1954. (Inventory #: 210920)
