First edition. viii + 465pp., 6pp. adv. 8vo., red cloth, lettered in gilt within a blind-stamped ruled border to front board, title and author gilt-stamped to spine; white endpapers; all edges trimmed. This is the secondary remainder binding for 700 copies reported by the publisher as disposed of in 1913. There is a bookplate on the pastedown. Cloth is worn somewhat at the crown and heal of slightly sunned spine, with only minimal loss. The front board is somewhat soiled. Overall just (truncated) a good copy. (Edel A63.a; BAL 10663).
