Edited by Chief Justice David Lloyd, this is (truncated) the second major compilation of Pennsylvania laws, printed by Andrew Bradford, the fourth printer in Philadelphia and son of William Bradford, the first printer in Philadelphia and in New York. The younger Bradford became Philadelphia's sole printer when he returned there in 1713, and remained so until Samuel Keimer arrived in 1723. He immediately obtained the lucrative contract to print the colony's laws, and produced the first collected volume in 1714. It is difficult to obtain Philadelphia imprints from before the Keimer-Franklin period of circa 1730, and few imprints by the first three printers (William Bradford, Reynier Jansen, and Andrew Bradford) have been on the market in the last fifty years. Indeed, only one example of this revision appears in the auction records in the last half century, being from the Bar Association of New York.

This example of the library of George L. Harrison (1811-1885), a noted Philadelphia businessman and philanthropist, who attempted (though failed) to bring the bones of William Penn back to Pennsylvania in 1881. Evans 3086; Hildeburn 336; ESTC W6322 (Inventory #: 353873)
