Very Good. A lovely hand-colored illustration of the then new "Hungerford Collegiate Institute" located in Adams, New York, which is in the vicinity of Watertown, New York and close to Lake Ontario in the Northern reaches of the state. The school would later become known as the Adams Collegiate Institute. Hungerford was the donor of the building to the college, which had been a hotel. We think it is highly likely that the print was intended as a promotion for the new school. The illustration suggests a bustling scene of sorts, with well-dressed couples entering or leaving the building, a fashionable carriage driving by, and a pristine white picket fence (truncated)
