The Târîh-i Osmânî Encümeni Mecmuası (TOEM), first published in 1910, was the first comprehensive and systematic journal dedicated to Ottoman historiography. Issued bi-monthly, the journal featured archival documents, historical research, and articles by leading historians of the time. TOEM aimed to reexamine Ottoman history through a scholarly (truncated) lens and continued publication through 1921, renamed as the Türk Tarih Encümeni Mecmuası (TTEM). The journal also served as a standard scholarly periodical of Turkish history, including translations of works published in Western journals, offering a bridge between Ottoman and international historical scholarship.
