[LGBTQ] Archive of 6 issues of the Bay Area Reporter (B.A.R.), one of the longest-running LGBTQ+ newspapers in the United States, documenting the social, political, and cultural life of San Francisco’s gay community in the 1970s. Each have approximately 30 pages. Each measure 8.5" x 11". Founded in 1971, B.A.R. played a crucial role in covering issues affecting the LGBTQ+ population, from police harassment and legal battles to nightlife, entertainment, activism, and and social issues affecting the gay and lesbian community, particularly during the post-Stonewall era and the rise of LGBTQ+ rights movements.
