Single issue announces the inauguration of President Andrew Jackson, and contains Congressional news on “Mr. Clay’s new Tariff Project” (now known as the Compromise Tariff of 1833), proposed by Henry Clay and John C. Calhoun as a resolution to the Nullification Crisis, in which South Carolina decried that the deferral tariffs were unconstitutional.
