"One hundred years ago, in 1906, Alexis Mossa published a short catalog of the Nice Municipal Museum of Fine Arts. In 1986, a walking catalog was produced, followed by a short guide in 1997. The 2006 collection guide allows the Jules Cheret Museum of Fine Arts to continue its efforts to showcase its rich, often overlooked permanent collections and to fill a gap, as previous publications have long been out of (truncated) print.

With the Joy, Drama and Light Exhibition, we wish to highlight the importance and quality of the collections of works on paper. Jule Cheret's posters and pastels consistently evoke the idea of joy. Gustav-Adolf Mossa creates refined dramas with his watercolors. Raoul Dufy's watercolors reflect his exploration of 'color-light.'
