Contemporary calf, blind rules to boards, blind tooling along joints, raised bands to spine, gilt tooling to board edges. Light rubbing and a few minor scuffs to boards, chip to upper inside corner of front board and head of spine, chipping to foot of spine, some rubbing to extremities, corners bumped and lightly worn, shelf number in early hand to front pastedown, small worm track to rear pastedown and rear endleaves, then a single wormhole through head of text block. Light toning to text, foxing to final quarter of text. An appealing copy. $650. * Seventh and final edition. First published in 1659, the year before the Restoration, as BOULEUTERION. Or a Practical Demonstration of County Judicatures, Greenwood's handbook is a useful source of information about the work of sheriffs and other lay officers during the Commonwealth period.
