Chicago: Published by Order of the Association. Dean & Ottaway, Steam Printers, 1865. 45, [1]. [2 blanks] pp. Disbound, Good+.
The Association gives thanks for the "overthrow of armed rebellion," and warns that "the bare emancipation of the enslaved, if it be still burdened with the deep wrong of disfranchisement for color, is radically and grievously incomplete, leaving the victims of our past wrong weak and defenceless at the mercy of prejudice and rapacity."
This is the time for a "thorough righting of our wrong to the negro race."
Sabin 34213 [general citation, Peoria imprint]. Ante-Fire Imprints 924 [1- ICHi]. (Inventory (truncated)
