[Painted Post, NY?], 1838. Broadside. 30 x 22 cm. Text printed in three columns. Dated Nov. 22, 1838, and signed in type by Wm. Bonham, Jahn C. Hayt, Oliver Rouse, J.B. Pratt, Henry B. Noyes, and Thos. A. Johnson, a Committee of Correspondence, appointed on behalf of the Whigs of the town of Painted Post, concerning the recent election. The committee reported that the Whig Party poll numbers before the elections did not match the results, and though they were "satisfied that the votes were fairly and correctly counted," they had some concerns about the security of the State ballot box.
