Of course I shall be delighted to sign them — or rather some — I hop not the whole lot!’
The author has signed the titled page: “Inscribed for Lawrence Lee, James Lees-Milne 1975”
Lees-Milne noted in Through Wood and Dale, for 9 May 1975: “A young man called Lawrence Lee having written to me some days ago arrived punctually by appointment at four with an enormous Gladstone bag filled with all the books I have ever written.
