Inscribed by the author on the front free endsheet, with previous seller's small sticker on front pastedown. Corners and edges are gently rubbed, with slightly creased spine ends. Board bottom edge exhibits small bump, and there is a small white stain on the spine. In the original dust jacket, Good, with losses to the edges, creasing, and small tears. The color remains vivid in the the dust jacket's illustrated scene. Agnes Morley Cleaveland's first book, "No Life for a Lady," highlights her experiences growing up in Cimarron, New Mexico. With this title, she says, "I wanted to telll the story of a frontier town like Cimarron and how it brought out the worst--and the best--in folks and made the pioneer attitude toward life into an integral part of the American spirit.
