The sole full-length book by American mercenary, journalist, spy, and pilot Hilaire du Berrier (1906-2002), a conservative critique of U.S. policy towards Vietnam, published before the draft and resulting opposition to the war galvanized the American Left in the late '60s. It was published by the John Birch Society, a conservative, antiglobalist group founded by candymaker Robert Welch; du Berrier would write for their journals for most of his life.
