Pierre-Louis de Beauclair (other sources Paul-Louis) was a teacher and man of letters born in 1735 and died in 1804. As a writer, he attempted in 1764 to refute Jean-Jacques Rousseau 's social contract , and wrote with elegance and originality the biography of Peter III of Russia , with interesting (truncated)
