Small original flapped envelope opened at end present postmarked Feb. in Bolton. 3 cent U.S postage stamp still affixed. His mother mentions what the Ruffians did to George Brown's "Herald" and wants John to come home. His brother Amory mentions worrisome reports of looting and shooting in Kansas and still wants to come live with John. We know nothing more about these Sawyers and what happened to any of them.
