Original oversize black and white photograph (11" x 13 7/8") SIGNED AND INSCRIBED in ink by by Buck Jones bottom right -"To Howard Stubbins. Good luck Howard. Buck Jones". A great image of Jones in cowboy hat staring down the sights of his six-shooter over his left shoulder. Near Fine, small corner creases, light soiling verso. Buck Jones was born Charles Frederick Gebhard in 1891 and died November 30, 1942 after being badly burned in the terrible Cocoanut Grove Nightclub fire in Boston on Nov.28, 1942. During his time at Monogram Pictures between 1941-1942 he starred as Marshall Buck Roberts, on his horse Silver, in eight of Monogram's Rough Riders buddy pictures. Howard Stubbins was a Monogram Pictures executive and head of its West Coast franchise. A great and SCARCE Hollywood Association signature..
